As a family looking to move from the UK to the UAE, we weren’t just after a new home or better weather. We were looking for somewhere safer, somewhere we could raise our children without constant worry. A place where life felt more secure, and where we could find a sense of community again.

For us, this move was also part of a personal hijrah, a way to live more peacefully and in line with our values.

But the process was confusing, Where should we live? What schools are actually good? How do people find friends, support, or even just the basics to settle in properly?
